The replacement of three bridges along SR-60 at Pipeline Avenue, Monte Vista Avenue and Benson Avenue is expected to begin February 3rd. The vertical clearances on these bridges are nonstandard and the structures continue to be struck by oversize vehicles, which causes significant damage.

Some bridges have utilities that run under the bridge and some cable run through the median. To raise the bridges, some utilities need to be relocated. SoCalGas’ work is part of the Benson Ave Bridge Replacement where we will be replacing a pipeline.

Estimated start date: February 3, 2020
Estimated end date: June 8, 2020
Estimated Work hours: Monday – Saturday; 7am – 8pm (subject to change)

What to expect: Southbound lane closure on Benson Ave. between Francis St. and Philadelphia St. Eastbound lane closure on Guardian Way between Vernon Ave. and Benson Ave.

To perform this work safely, the operation may require a controlled release of natural gas. We encourage anyone who has concerns to call us at 1-800-427-2200. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Your natural gas service should continue without interruption. If that changes, a SoCalGas representative will notify you. This letter does not require any action on your part. To learn more about pipeline safety visit socalgas.com.
